Cultural Arts
Cultural Arts Committee
At Lilja Elementary, we believe that exposure to diverse cultural experiences and the arts is essential for well-rounded education. Our dedicated Cultural Arts Committee works tirelessly to bring these enriching experiences to our students.
What We Do:
The Cultural Arts Committee collaborates closely with teacher representatives from each grade level to enhance our curriculum through carefully selected cultural and artistic experiences. We aim to provide:
2-3 grade-specific events per year, tailored to complement each grade's curriculum
2-3 school-wide performing arts assemblies annually
Our Offerings:
Grade-Specific Events may include:
Visits from children's book illustrators and authors
Historical re-enactment characters (e.g., Helen Keller, Paul Revere)
Animal specialists and nature experts
Interactive workshops aligned with grade-level studies
School-Wide Assemblies may feature:
World musicians
Acrobats and circus performers
Dancers from various cultural traditions
Other exciting live performance arts
These experiences bring classroom learning to life, spark creativity, and broaden our students' cultural horizons.
Funding:
The Cultural Arts Committee is generously supported by our PTO. Our budget is determined by the success of various school fundraising events throughout the year. Your participation in these events directly contributes to the rich cultural experiences we can offer our students.
